It was instrumental in introducing cinematographer Roberto Schaefer to Indian cinema. The soundtrack of this movie is given by A.R.Rahman. This soundtrack is a fusion of eastern and western music. The DVD soundtrack has many songs, one of them being "Munni Badnaam Hui", which is a remix of the popular Pakistani song "Pukaar Ho ... Munni Ho". This remake was done by music group Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, who also composed the whole soundtrack for this film. The movie received positive reviews from critics and holds a rating of 81% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 23 reviews with an average rating of 7.2 out of 10. The film has attracted criticism for its inaccurate portrayal of conflict in Kashmir, and its alleged glorification of war, and the interrogation techniques used in the film. Ashutosh Gowariker got very critical reviews from certain circles for portraying Indian Army in a positive manner unlike the rest of the Bollywood films which showed them as negative characters. He later clarified saying that "Loc Kargil" was not an attempt to add patriotism to something he had done. He told "Outlook India": "I don't believe in patriotism at all. But yes, I am concerned about how we look at ourselves and project ourselves. We have our own heroes and we need to promote that image of ourselves. cfa1e77820
